Paediatrics

Paediatric services at Toronto Private Hospital are limited to surgical procedures. The most common being ophthalmology, urology, general and dental surgery for children.

Palliative Care

Palliative care affirms life and respects dying as a normal process. It facilitates quality of life by encompassing the physical, psychological, spiritual, cultural and social needs of the patient and their family/carers. We aim to maintain comfort and support in ways that respect the person’s own values and lifestyle.

Pastoral Care

The hospital offers patients and their families the assistance of pastoral carers. Please ask a staff member if you would like a visit from a pastoral carer while you are in hospital.

Pathology

On-site pathology services provided by Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology are available to meet inpatient requirements 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Pharmacy

Town Square Pharmacy is a local Toronto business and caters for inpatient and discharge pharmacy requirements.

Town Square pharmacists are medication specialists who work in collaboration with other health professionals to ensure you receive the best possible care during your hospital stay.

Physiotherapy

Our team of highly skilled physiotherapists care for patients before and after all major surgery, and during periods of rehabilitation. Physiotherapists are an integral part of the inter-disciplinary team.

Plastic Surgery

Procedures are performed by plastic surgeons for medical, reconstructive and cosmetic reasons. Operations include:

  • Abdominoplasty
  • Breast (reconstruction,augmentation,reduction)
  • Otoplasty
  • Facial Surgery
  • Laser Surgery

Radiology

The Hunter Imaging Group provides on-site radiology services at Toronto Private. These services include general x-rays, ultrasound scans and CT scanning.

Recovery Unit

Toronto Private has a nine-bed recovery unit, staffed by nurses specifically trained in the post-operative care of anaesthetised patients.

Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation is the process that brings about the highest level of recovery following loss of function or ability. Rehabilitation can be achieved by the development of physical compensatory mechanisms and psychological adjustment.

The rehab team uses assessment, teaching and coaching to help patients achieve their goals. The team also administers and monitors therapeutic interventions, provides a coordination and advocacy role, and ensures quality health-care practises are utilised.
